Support is on offer to our communities for World Mental Health Day with local events and a refreshed website.
Make Healthy Minds your first step to mental health support in Bradford District and Craven - www.healthyminds.services

To mark World Mental Health Day (Tuesday 10 October), Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership will be holding two information stalls:

  • Broadway Shopping Centre in Bradford (20 Broadway, Bradford BD1 1EY) from 1pm-5pm
  • Morrison’s in Skipton (Broughton Road, Skipton BD23 1FL) from 9am-12pm

On the day, the partnership will also be launching its refreshed mental health support website, Healthy Minds (www.healthyminds.services), for people across Bradford District and Craven.

First step to mental health support

The information stalls will give people an opportunity to talk about what helps with their mental health, a demonstration of the refreshed website and helpful resources for people to take away.

Staff from Safe Spaces (crisis support service in the community for anyone aged 7 and over) will also be there to talk to people about how they can look after their mental health.

The refreshed Healthy Minds website is your first step to mental health support in Bradford District and Craven. The site includes a directory of services including support groups, mental health advice and information, and you can get personalised information tailored to your needs.

Iain MacBeath, Director of Adult Social Care at Bradford Council, Director of Integration for Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, and Executive Lead for Healthy Minds for Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, said: “The refreshed Healthy Minds website is a great resource for anyone in Bradford District and Craven seeking mental health support. The website gives you personalised information to meet your needs, and the results are given based on a few questions about how you’re feeling.

Please tell your family, friends, or work colleagues about the website; it’s there for people when they’re in need of mental health support.

    Iain MacBeath

He added: “Attending the information stalls will give people the chance to tell us what helps with their mental health, which we can then share with other people, as this may help to manage their mental health.”

Helen Davey, CEO of Mind in Bradford and the Chair of the Mental Health Provider Forum for Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, said: “We’re pleased to launch the refreshed Healthy Minds website where you can find mental health support and advice in Bradford District and Craven. On the website, there is a directory of services and groups that you can explore, as well as practical tips and advice for managing your or a loved one’s mental health. To access the site, please visit www.healthyminds.services.

“We know it’s not easy for some of us to ask for support but please make the first step and ask for help, whether it’s a service you access or speaking to someone you trust. Keeping things to yourself can make you feel very lonely and isolated, by asking for support you will get the help you need.

“The information stalls will provide people a chance to learn about mental health services available to them in Bradford District and Craven. The Healthy Minds team will share helpful resources including their free mindfulness cards and information about the refreshed website.”

Dr Junaid Azam, GP and Clinical Lead for Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership, said: “I would encourage people to attend one of the information stalls taking place on World Mental Health Day. In the morning, the team will be at Morrison’s in Skipton (9am-12pm) and then at the Broadway Shopping Centre in Bradford (1-5pm) in the afternoon.

“A demonstration of the refreshed Healthy Minds website will allow you to see what is available on the website and how you can access that information. There will be interactive activities about mental health and wellbeing that people can take part in.”
