Bradford Teaching Hospitals seeking public governors
Council.
This is an exciting opportunity to represent the interests of our service users, our local communities and our Foundation Trust members. We are seeking to fill three seats in the public constituencies of Bradford West, Bradford South and Shipley.
As a governor you will be able to:
- ensure there is robust challenge about the strategic direction of the Trust, our vision and how we are performing
- share with the Board and Council of Governors the views of the local people you represent: actively seeking out what they think about the services provided by Bradford Teaching Hospitals
- take part in meetings of the Council of Governors, its committees, governor training days and Joint Council of Governors/Board of Directors sessions to represent the views from your constituencies as you carry out the statutory duties of a governor. Associate Director of Corporate Governance/Board Secretary.
The Council of Governors has an important role in making our Foundation Trust publicly accountable for the services it provides. It is important that people stand as governors so that we have the voices of our local communities influencing the important decisions that we make. We actively encourage people to take part in aspects of hospital life and this is one more way that people can get involved.
The council is made up of staff, appointed governors from partner organisations and 13 elected members from our public and patient constituencies.
Candidates must be a Foundation Trust member, aged 16 or over and live in the area they want to represent.
To find out more about the role you can join an informal virtual session with Chairman, Dr Maxwell Mclean, and two of our governors on Tuesday, 9 March from 4.15pm to 5.15pm. To book, email: membership@btft.nhs.uk or phone 01274 364794 You can also contact Jacqui Maurice, Head of Corporate Governance, Jacqui Maurice, for an informal chat on: 01274 382685 or email: corporate.governance@bthft.nhs.uk
